Cómo no amar a Ellen?

These Zooey Deschanel pictures were taken by Ellen Von Unwerth for GQ Magazine and they illustrate all the reasons why I consider Ellen Von Unwerth one of my all time favorite photographers: subtle erotism, bright colors, the girl/woman role, and the eternal battle between inocence and malignity. It’s impossible not to love Ellen!

Hace ya un par de años que vi estas hermosas imágenes de Mareen Fischinger, pero aquí se las dejo para que las disfruten.

A couple of years ago I came upon these beautiful images taken by Mareen Fischinger, and since they are beutifully timeless here they are for you guys.

No se si les he contado que mi esposo también es fotógrafo, no sólo es fotógrafo sino que es muy bueno y de verdad me está volando la cabeza con su última serie : «Escenas de amor entre parejas anónimas» que hace con polaroids al mejor estilo Hockney!

I don’t know if I’ve told you guys that my husband is also a photographer, not only a photographer, a kick ass photographer who happens to be blowing my mind with his latest series : «Love scenes between anonimous couples» that is shot on polaroids and put together Hockney style!

Creo que nunca alguien le había dado un mejor uso a los Post-its!…..WOW!

I think no one has ever found a better use for Post-its!….WOW!

En internet se encuentran todo tipo de cosas: bonitas, feas, interesantes, aburridas, estúpidas, inteligentes, etc. Pero muy pocas veces se encuentra uno páginas tan deliciosas como la del Fotógrafo Sacha Maric. La primera vez que entré a su página quedé hipnotizada por la delicadeza de sus imágenes y la sencillez con que tan facilmente nos recuerda que hay belleza en este mundo, y que está en todos lados!

Sacha estudió en el Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design en Londres, una de las instituciones más prestigiosas del mundo en el área de arte y diseño, pero creo que en estas cosas o se tiene o no se tiene y por más alta educación que haya de por medio si no se tiene, no se logra sacar. Y Sacha si que lo tiene!!!! lo tiene para él y para dar y convidar, es incríble ver tanto talento en una sola persona porque no sólo son hermosas sus imágenes de moda, sino que además te deja boquiabierto con su portafolio personal, sus imágenes de documentarismo y sus sutiles videos.

Lo que más me gusta de tener este blog es precisamente cuando me encuentro con trabajos como el de Sacha, que, sencillamente, me dejan sin palabras y me quitan el aliento.

There are all kinds of stuff on the Internet: pretty stuff, ugly stuff, interesting stuff, boring stuff, stupid stuff, clever stuff, etc. But it’s very rare when you find websites as delicious as Photographer Sacha Maric’s. The first time I came upon his website I was hipnotized by the gentleness of his images and by the simplicity with which he reminds us that there’s beauty in the world, and that it’s all around us!

Sacha graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, one of the most prestigious institutions in the Design/Art area, but I personally think that for these kind of things you either have it or you don’t, even with the best education, if you  don’t have what it takes, then you simply can’t get the same outstanding results. And Sacha most definately has it, he has enough of «it» for himself and for many many others. It’s really amazing to find so much talent in one single person because not only his fashion photography is gorgeous, but he also leaves you dumbfounded with his personal work, his documentary pictures and his subtle, «whisper like» videos.

One of my favorite things about having this blog is precisely when I come uppon characters such as Sacha, who simply leave me speechless and take my breath away.

En su serie Babel Tales el fotógrafo danés Peter Funch monta su cámara en las calles de Nueva York y toma imágenes de personas con cosas en común: bostezando, vestidos de blanco, mirando hacia arriba, etc… y luego une todas las personas en un fotomontaje que nos hace ver que tan parecidos somos a pesar de ser tan distintos.

In his Babel Tales series danish photographer Peter Funch shoots people in the streets of New York that have things in common: people yawning, people dressed in white, people looking up, etc…And then he puts them all together in a photomontage which makes you realize just how much alike we are despite being so different.
