Aunque detesto esa canción de Lady Gaga, y destesto la forma en que es imposible despegársela una vez uno piensa en ella (ni siquiera hay que oirla), no puedo evitar nombrar mi post sobre el trabajo del fotógrafo Alejandro Annicharico con el coro de la canción porque las fotos de este chico se quedan en mi cabeza casi tanto como el pinche coro de la cancioncilla esta, pero con efectos completamente opuestos, porque Lady Gaga me da mal genio y las imágenes de Alejandro me produecen varias cosas: primero una gigante envidia de su incuestionable talento, segundo mucha felicidad de saber que hay gente haciendo cosas tan bonitas en mi país y tercero una admiración profunda por una sensibilidad tan bonita. Aquí les dejo algunas de mis favoritas!

Even though I hate this Lady Gaga song, and I particulary hate the way it sticks in your head like chewed gum (even without hearing, just by thinking about it) I can’t help naming my post on colombian photographer Alejandro Annicharico‘s work after the shorus of this dreadful song because the pictures this guy takes are stuck in my head much like the infamous chorus, only that these pictures have a totally opposite effect on me because Lady Gaga’s song really annoys me (It seems I can’t stress this enough, right?) but Alejandro’s images make me feel three really good things: first a lot of jealousy of his unquestionable talent, second a lot of happiness for knowing that there’s someone in my country doing such beautiful things and third: deep admiration for his gorgeous sensibility. Here are some of my favorite images, enjoy!

Hace rato vengo admirando las acuarelas y las ilustraciones en fotos de Stinna Persson. Y me puse feliz al saber que el próximo mes tendrá una expo en NY y que (ojalá) voy a tener la oportunidad de verla!!  les traeré fotitos, y a los que estén en NY, quién se apunta a acompañarme?

I’ve been a fan of Stinna Persson‘s watercolors and illustrated photographs for some time now. That’s why I was so psyched when I learned that she will be having a show in NY in September and that I’m going to get to see it! I’ll bring you back some pics, and for those of you in the NY area: who wants to come with?

No he podido encontrar un reporte oficial pero encuentro por todos lados notas que dicen que la genial fotógrafa grunge Corinne Day, famosa por descubrir a Kate Moss, murió de un cáncer cerebral esta semana. A pesar de que ha sido fuertemente criticada por el uso de chicas extremadamente flacas y jóvenes, no se puede negar que tenía una sensibilidad y un ojo excepcionales para el oficio. QEPD.

I haven’t been able to find an accurate or official report on this, but I’ve read in several blogs that the genious grunge photographer Corinne Day, famous for discovering Kate Moss, passed away this week due to a brain tumor. Despite being highly criticized for using extremely thin, almost sick looking girls that were also too young, we can’t deny that she had an exceptional eye and sensibility. RIP Ms Day.

Si pudiera y no fuera un poco bizarro, me compraría TODAS las piezas de la nueva colección de la marca de joyas colombiana La Libertad. Felicitaciones al diseñador Federico Castrillón por impresionarnos cada vez más.

If I had the money and it wasn’t a little freaky, I would definately purchase ALL the pieces in the new collection of colombian jewelry brand La Libertad. Kuddos to designer Federico Castrillón for wowing us once again.

Mirando el fantástico blog Looks good to me, me encontré con estos pintalabios en forma de gatico que me parecieron preciosos!! pero cuando miré la página mi di cuenta que son de la línea de maquillaje de Paul & Joe, una línea de maquillaje que yo ni siquiera sabía que existía, y que me pareció deliciosita, desde los colores, hasta los empaques, y terminando con la página web…todo es precioso! Hagan click aquí y le dan una miradita. Ah! y pasense por la zona de Downloads que hay unos fondos de escritorio preciosos.

Looking at the fantastic Looks good to me blog, and I came upon these gorgeous cat shaped lipsticks that I obviously loooooved, I had a big surprise when I got on the website and discovered that they’re part of Paul & Joe‘s makeup line, a makeup line that I didn’t even know existed and that I found to be delicious, from the colors and the packaging to the website…everything is precious!!!
